Methods

In addition to more traditional counselling, I offer a unique style through Integrative Therapy, that combines various approaches, best suited to your specific needs. While I use several evidence based therapeutic methods, such as Solution Focused Brief Therapy and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, I also work from a holistic perspective, that involves all aspects of self: body, mind, emotions and spirit.

This means that I will engage you in a conversation that focuses on a cognitive based approach to explore your situation, and I will also invite you to practice embodied exercises that allow you to create deeper awareness about your inner self. This integrative approach is based on the premise that all parts of self are interconnected, and consequently “fixing a problem” will also benefit from connecting body and mind.

Trauma and stress, for example, can manifest in all parts of our bodies, and letting go of the emotions connected to such experiences, can be supported through embodied practices, such as visualizations, relaxation and breath exercises, mild movement, play, nature-based or arts-based interventions.

I offer Hypnotherapy as an option, as it is a highly effective method to release deep emotions connected to traumatic and stressful life situations, change unwanted behaviours and beliefs, and reduce emotional and physical pain. It allows people to deeply relax and increase attention and awareness about inner experiences.

As much as I will invite you to explore new perspectives, information, and engage in new practices, you will know what is best for you and choose the process which meets your needs. Your goals and choices will lead my approaches in supporting you.
